How do traditional methods of searching for information compare to VSEO? In the year 2009, when my toilet is busted at 3 am, I don’t go to the yellow pages; I couldn’t even tell you if we own one and where it is. I go right to Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc. for a list of plumbers. It is at this precise moment that exposure is critical: 70% of searchers stick to listings on the first 3 pages of results. When do you go to page 105 of Google listings to find a business/service provider? Regarding information, looking at the listings returned in search results, they all appear the same, with a headline, URL, and description, akin to a regular listing in the yellow pages. Video in search is like having a full page display ad where you can provide much more information to potential customers.
Video listings help you to appear prominently in SERPs, (think front of Plumbers heading in book) but also can provide a wealth of information (think display ad) via sight, sound, and motion to potential customers, to help speed the decision making process and separate yourself from your competitors. In the end, where you appear and what you say about your business determines whether or not you get the business; the medium has changed but the principles are the same.
