New & Improved Competition Analysis Tool

SEOmoz recently released an improved competition analysis link tool. Dubbed Open Site Explorer, the new tool is similar to their Linkscape tool, but provides faster, more accessible access to link data.
Here are a few highlights of this terrific (and I mean really great) competition analysis tool SEOmoz Pro members can now advantage of:
- Attributes a URL and Domain authority score to any site specified, and provides a comprehensive list of both linking root domains and sub domains pointing to the site’s domain or page URL.
- Enables users to analyze up to 10,000 incoming links and includes the anchor text, page authority and domain authority score associated with each linking site. Moreover, CSV export functionality allows the data to be saved.
- Link filters allow users to sort, view and organize link list by specification such as “Only 301″ or “Only No-followed” or by “External” or “Internal” linking page.
- Provides a cursory competition analysis of the linking root domains which drive the most incoming links to the domain or individual page on the site. Eventually more functionalities will allow for access to a list of pages from any given domain that link to any target URL you choose.
- Illustrative pie chart break down of the percentage of “Internal” versus “External” and “Followed” versus “No-followed” links.
- Comparison report allows you to assess metrics side by side for any two given pages and/or domains. This provides a quick competition analysis and illustrates how difficult it may be to outrank any one competitor. This report also identifies the quality of linking sites and is a great resource for targeting new “organic” link prospects.
Available to the savvy SEOs that are SEOmoz Pro members, Open Site Explorer is not quite as comprehensive as Linkscape, but provides a faster, more digestible site overview. With a database boasting of 65 billion URLs and a refresh rate of 45 times per day, OSE is a terrific resource for any SEO company looking for a quick competition analysis and basic site evaluation.
