It’s few and far between, at least since the adaptation of Universal Search, to hear of the all-encompassing, comprehensive search platform. What was once considered a revolution is now old news.
But Universal Search provides an opportunity for SEO- a way to attack from all angles, to put your name on the first page through different types of media. By including local business results (through their Maps feature,) images, video and news, Google gave results pages variety.
This is what makes VSEO an emerging business marketing tool, this is how image SEO can help small online stores, this is how press releases and local listings prove their prevalence. Knowing that these opportunities are available gives even the smallest of sites avenues to increase their online presence.
Universal Search is now ingrained into our search engine experience, it still may be old news- but the revolving content of different media available also means that current, relevant content is, as always, King. So attack with what resources you have. The endless battle for search engine dominance will continue…
